The base of the production specifications given to the Leboulch research department is to meet the contemporary customs of farmers, who since they own ever more powerful tractors, load the trailer very generously! The consequence is that the passage through the spreading unit had to be optimized and the structure had to be adapted to higher strains.

Beaters were lengthened by 200 mm to efficiently work with the load dome. The spiral diameter (900 mm) remained the same to ensure a wide transport and projection of the matter, but the spirals are now made of high tensile steel (ST420) of 10 mm thick and the interchangeable and reversible blades are now made of Hardox. The maintenance is also easier since the beaters are mounted on interchangeable wear rings.

The new monoblock design of the body, with a resolutely modern look, was thought for an easy manufacturing and a sturdy construction. The sides are now made of one high tensile steel sheet in which a series of reinforcing folds are carried out at the inflexion point: the wall is in this way further reinforced since it is not welded and the gliding properties are also further improved. Similarly, the outer side reinforcements, even if they are simpler, are reinforced: they are also made of one folded part, they are not broken at the inflexion point of the point anymore, critical point where they are way thicker, and are welded to the body in a continuous way.

Regarding convenience, the hydraulic and electrical components of the HVS Evolution muck spreader are built in the front wall, with an easy access for and easy control and maintenance. The sprung drawbar, which works flat for a high flexibility, also ensures driving comfort. The transmission is protected by a cam security on the P.T.O.-shaft and a free wheel on the spreading system. The lubrication system of the beater bearings is centralized at the outer side of the spreading frame.

In total, the Leboulch HVS Evolution muck spreader benefits from a fluid line but also from a more fluid work.

Leboulch bale trailers: take advantage of the steel tensile limits

A bale trailer is just like an articulated lorry. It looks easy, but a construction is not worth the other one because these trailers will undergo huge torsions, depending on the load distribution. And the bale trailers also add the torsions undergone on agricultural grounds and when exiting the field.

When reviewing its bale trailer range, Leboulch logically kept Hauswirth's design of structure with homogeneous strains. This design takes advantage of the steel specifications, especially their tensile limit. Several transfer modules aim at removing the areas with a lot of strains and at transferring weight in all conditions.

This principle is also applied to the rear axle brackets on models with one single rear axle, under 18 t max. total load.

The programme includes 5 semi-mounted models from 6 m/8 t in single-axle to 10 m/16 t in double-axle, as well as 13 models with front turntable from 8 m/10 t with 4 wheels to 12 m/24 t and 6 wheels.

All front turntables are fitted with a leaf suspension (half-tandem type) to make sure the load is held in position on each wheel on uneven ground. The same suspension is also mounted on the rear axle of the 18 t models. Turntables include a 360° ball revolving plate with large diameter (> 1,000 mm). The drawbar of the models with turntable is held in position by a spring with height adjustment.

The bale trailer floor is made of a chequered plate, with 4 cm edge, for a good load stability. The bale trailers are standard fitted with galvanized ladders with supports when they are folded. The standard equipment includes two rear strap reels, the support and the cables for the flashing beacon and the braking system of all wheels.

The range also includes models with wooden floor, in low loader version with hydraulic loading ramps and two rear stabilizing stands, and in low loader version with rear axle allowing to lower the trailer down to the ground for a loading height of only 18 cm.

For corporate farmers, agricultural co-operatives and contractors, the spreading process must go very well and fast.

The production specifications of the muck spreaders are therefore very demanding. The body design must allow an easy and maximal loading, imply a balanced matter packing to transfer an homogeneous mass to the beaters, and offer a modern look because the spreader is also the company's image towards the environment and/or the customers. The spreading device must be fed in a reliable way, separate the matter constantly and spread it regularly. And the whole vehicle must be comfortable, both on road and on fields, both during use and maintenance.

Nothing revolutionary, would you say. Indeed. And it is the aim of the new Leboulch GOLIATH Evolution generation: maximum simplicity in a concentrate of design for maximum efficiency. And this is how it is possible...

Maximum simplicity in a concentrate of design for maximum efficiency.

GOLIATH strikes most by its body design: not only because it is monoblock (each wall, the floor and the upper circle are made of one single plate, which allow to avoid deformations and alterations due to welding), not only because it is now made of high tensile steel (ST420), and not only because it is rather low for an easy loading and widened at the top for a maximum transported volume (the Evolution range introduces by the way 1 m bodies for applications in hilly areas).

Exclusive design

But it is especially because its side panels are bended. This exclusive design does not only represent a resolutely modern look, nor the economy of upper circles or reinforcing intermediate folds, it is especially an advantage for the matter to glide. The upper widened and rounded part favours the matter packing, but the vertical part at the bottom limits the compression of the lower volume, hence a regular displacement of the matter, a very clean body after unloading and an homogeneous feeding of the beaters.

Homogeneous feeding

This homogeneous feeding is also favoured by a sturdy moving floor with shipping or Vaucanson chains, which are tensioned by a hydropneumatic closed circuit, with mechanical load relief in reversed rotation. Regarding spreading, it is carried out by Leboulch beaters, which are famous for their very good crumbling quality. It results from 10 mm thick spirals in high tensile steel (ST420), whose diameter of 900 mm ensures a wide intersecting area, but also from the specific distribution of the blades (interchangeable, reversible and made of Hardox), lower blades (retractable with wear ring) and an appropriate rpm. The electronic balancing further improves their specifications.

The comfort of use is not limited to that provided by a low center of gravity when driving, an appropriate balancing of the axle(s) and a flat working sprung drawbar. The grates to check the load and the moving floor gearboxes reassure the driver. The moving floor rpm is adjusted by an electro-hydraulic control of the oil flow. The hydropneumatic tensioners of the moving floor balance the load peaks and stop the spreading process if the system pressure is insufficient. The complete hoods and the upper carter at the front, the galvanized side boards at the back and the mudguards protect the spreader and tractor. Even the rear lights are protected at work by an automatic device that folds them up as soon as the moving floor is activated.

Regarding ease of maintenance, the focus was laid on sturdiness and interchangeability.

Hydraulic and electric components protected under the front hood, with easy access, Ø 45 mm drive shaft, cam cluth on the P.T.O.-shaft, free wheel on the spreading system, side greasing of the beater bearings, wide protection of the bearings, moulded gearwheels, built-in hydraulic door rams, hydraulic and electric hose ducts, etc.

More than ever, the Leboulch GOLIATH Evolution muck spreader is the easy and reliable base of an efficient and productive intensive spreading work.

This base can furthermore be extended to everybody's needs: Compostar composting unit, electronic adjustments with or without DPA (flow in proportion to the driving speed), swinging door, hydraulic control box, "40 km/h" version, etc.

Hauswirth livestock trailers became famous thanks to their "not deformable" body. At the time of this range update, notably to take advantage of the JOSKIN Group's production tool, JLB Leboulch of course decided to keep this specification.

The body of the TRIMAX generations is therefore also very sturdy. It keeps its monocoque construction and adopts the continuous welding for a higher sturdiness and uniform surfaces. The reinforced upper arches and the multiple reinforcing tubes on the sides and under the body, which are distributed in a more harmonious way, make sure the body won't be deformed on the (very) long term. And the famous Leboulch paint, with shot-blasting, phosphating and high-tech lacquer, which is highly resistant to faeces (veterinary standards), ensures the conservation of the livestock trailer structure and of perfectly smooth inner walls, which is a major condition for the cattle safety.

Because this is the cattle breeder's first concern: protect his animals against stress and injuries.

By picturing him at their place during transportation, Leboulch removed all projections on the inner walls, installed a floor in chequered plate to reduce the slipping risks, included wide tyres in the standard equipment and drawn high, wide and chamfered wheel recesses, on which the animals tend to rest rather than fall.

For an increased safety, an anti-slip ProSecurit floor is available. And regarding comfort, a roof cover is also available.

For the crucial phase of loading/unloading, Leboulch offers now two separate versions: a Trimax-S reclining range and Trimax-P range with ramp.

The Trimax-S range represents the maximum comfort: to transfer the animals, the whole body can be lowered so that the inner slope remains low and that the body floor is only at 10 cm from the ground (at the door). Given the presence of a 4 cm sanitary edge, the cattle only has 14 cm to cross. The body is lifted by means of two hydraulic rams, to which an optional hydropneumatic shock absorber can be added.

On the Trimax-P range, the ramp was optimized. It keeps its galvanized frame and its wooden floow with slats but it is extended, to reduce the slope, and widened (2.29 m) to reduce falling risks.

It rests now on three large arches with long support for a maximum stability. Furthermore, the floor height is minimized by somewhat recessing the axle in the chassis on single-axle models and by reversing the tandem on double-axle ones (leaves under the axles, which allow to absorb shocks more progressively when driving). The steps to access the ramp and at the body entry are limited to a few centimeters only.

Last but not least, on both versions, the rear door is maximized so that the very wide opening (2.12 m) is now almost as wide as the inner body (2.23 m). Injuries can in this way be prevented in case of crowds when entering the meadow!

Finally, the driver's comfort was not forgotten. On Trimax-P, the ramp is fitted with a strong central spring to make the handling easier. An hydraulic control is also available as an option. On Trimax-S, the lights are protected in the rear beam. The side wicket door is part of the standard equipment, just like the pre-equipment for outer fences, whose several pivoting or sliding models are available as an option, all with retractable posts, which are also used as transport locks. The body can also be fitted with inner partitions on rail. The lower body angles are slanted for an easy maintenance.

Leboulch REGENEROFLEX, a nice boost for the meadow

As its name suggests, the aim of the Leboulch Regenero range is to regenerate meadows, i.e. to stimulate the natural biological activity of the ground in order to boost the growth of a forage that is denser, higher and of better quality.

As its name suggests, the aim of the Leboulch Regenero range is to regenerate meadows, i.e. to stimulate the natural biological activity of the ground in order to boost the growth of a forage that is denser, higher and of better quality.

To that end, the inner part of the Regenero is fitted with alternated scrapers that pull out molehills, dung and other waste. They are then leveled and spread by a blade mounted on the second row. Finally, the rear part of the machine cut and aerate the grass, scarify roots and remove moss and grass weed.

The classical Regenero is rather aggressive with a rear part fitted with narrow cutting shares to renovate the (very) damaged parcels while the new model, the Regeneroflex, aims at a smoother and finer work. Its rear part is fitted with curved tines that are long enough to properly follow the ground unevenness.

These tines are particularly efficient to remove dead grass, moss and other undesirable elements. It is however not the only thing they do: they also perfectly crumble molehills that were first leveled by the blades, which favours a dense, rapid and homogeneous grass growth.

The working depth is adjusted by means of a pin on the gauge wheel supports. The aggressiveness of the tines is adjusted by means of a graduated scale per section.

The hitch of the RegeneroFlex is fastened on the central beam by means of a large diameter spring, which holds the machine perfectly on the ground for a good work, allows the hitch to oscillate to follow the unevenness properly and absorbs the shocks for a high comfort of use.

The Regenero and RegeneroFlex can optionally be fitted with an electric seeder to thicken the existing grass. Hoses bring the seeds towards splash plates, which spread them before the tines, which then cover the seeds so that they can optimally germinate. A footstep is available to fill the tank and carry out the adjustments.

Next to the wheels, hitch and possible folding hydraulic ram, the Regenero and RegeneroFlex are fully made of galvanized special steel for a maximum durability in a corrosive environment. The range includes a fixed model of 2.40 m and 4 folding models of 4.00 m (except Flex), 5.00m, 6.00 m and 7.40 m.

RegeneroFlex completes in a useful manner the Leboulch pasture care range, which also includes the Aero meadow aerator range (8 models from 2.40 m to 6.60 m) that carry out three tasks in one passage: moss removal, grass aeration and dung and molehill spreading.
